Junior Doctor for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) in Västervik

We are looking for a junior doctor for child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) in Västervik for the summer of 2026.

We meet patients who, during certain periods, need treatment for various psychiatric conditions, such as severe anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harming behavior, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Treatment is based on evidence-based methods and is carried out in close collaboration with family, networks, schools, and social services.

As a junior doctor, you will be responsible for standard junior doctor tasks within outpatient care and actively contribute to a positive work environment. The employment is for approximately 3 months during the period of June to August, but longer positions can be discussed. Start and end dates will be determined by agreement.

About You

We are primarily looking for someone who is a licensed physician or has a medical degree. Medical students are also welcome to apply, provided that by the start of employment, you have completed at least 10 semesters of the medical program at a Swedish university or an institution within the EU/EEA, with approved courses and exams. Furthermore, it is required that the psychiatry exam is completed and passed by the start of employment. Previous work experience in psychiatric care is an advantage. We want you to have an interest in psychiatry.

Your Future Workplace

BUP consists of outpatient clinics in Västervik, Kalmar, and Oskarshamn, as well as our inpatient care and emergency department located in Kalmar. The eating disorder units can be found in Kalmar and Västervik. At the clinic in Västervik, we have about 30 employees who meet approximately 1200 children, adolescents, and their families each year. The clinic is centrally located within walking distance to bus and train connections.
